This is the story of how I got started...

Good for $45 towards: Eight 1-hour SUP rentals

 

I bought this Groupon!!   And this $45 Groupon changed my life.

The first time I went out wasn't until June because of how busy the end of the semester is.  The first time I went out I DID NOT LIKE IT!  I used to kayak and I thought that was better.  The second time I went back I asked if I could trade the SUP rental for a kayak rental and was told no.  Well -- I wasn't going to give up $45 so I tried again.  The second time was better.

By the third time I WAS HOOKED!!  I loved the view from above the water.  I got better at it and less fearful.  I could look around and not just down.  

I quickly went through my 8 rentals and then joined the Texas Rowing Center so I could paddle MORE.  

Finally Started

Hello --

I have been stand up paddle boarding for almost a year now.  It is passion in my life.  It provides balance on so many levels.  I have been posting "Paddling Reports" on my Facebook page most days when I get off the water.  I have had several requests to start a blog with my adventures.  So "SupShane" will be that place.

Get ready to hear about the weather, the locations, the distances, the wildlife and the clarity that I have while out on the water.
